Walking On Water

"Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?""
(Matthew 14:19-31)
On a rainy night, in a boat,
Jesus walked across the river to find his beloveds.
A sign I see as Jesus overcoming the odds just to be there with us.

There and then, Peter saw Him, but was not sure if it was his Jesus.
True enough, it was Him, and Peter took a step of faith.
Notice how faith is decribed in this story?
Peter's eyes was upon Jesus when he took that step of faith.

And doubt is decribed as when peter saw the winds and clouds him,
A sign of looking at circumstances rather than Jesus.

Every Sunday, we go to church.
We get fed by the word, get all pumped up, and come mid-week,
we somehow feel more or less easily defeated with our faith meter emptying.

But Jesus will not allow us to sink.
Just as Peter was sinking,  Jesus stretched forth his hand, and pulled him.
And He will do the same for you too.

In the midst of the storm, through the wind and the rain, He'll still be the same faithful Daddy God.

Who ever said boats were the only thing that was able to travel on water.
Jesus could, Peter could, You can.
