Influence
"Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him."
(2 Corinthians 3:18)
Had Sharing today.
Realize how some married couples can look like each other?
It's probably because they see each other everyday, for too long.
Notice how big a simple problem can get just because we focus too much on it?
And Notice how we just naturally follow the latest trends?
Beloved, this is called influence.
The human mind reacts to the way it sees things.
A Scientist once did an experiement.
He placed 5 monkeys in a cage with a booby-trapped banana.
Each time the banana is picked up, a sprinkler in the cage would be activated,
and water is sprayed on them, irritating them.
Soon, they realized it was a trap, and they would attack any monkey trying to get it.
Few weeks passed, the scientist decided to replace one of the monkey in the cage with another.
The new monkey tried to take a banana, it was attacked.
Soon it stopped trying, knowing the consequences.
few weeks later, again, a monkey from the initial batch was replaced.
This new monkey, too, tried to take the banana and was attacked.
Only that this time, the first new monkey joined in the attack.
The sequence continued until ALL the monkeys were replaced.
It was observed that the attacking continued each time one tried to take the banana.
But none knew what was the real reason for attacking,
none knew the existence of the sprinkler.
They attacked because they saw it was how the other monkeys reacted.
They were influence.
Beloved, don't underestimate the powers of influence.
Don't underestimate the powers of observations.
It can make you.
It can break you.
Need something right to focus on today?
Jesus is there.
