The Pebbles

"And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine."
(1Samuel 17:40)
We all know the story of David.
How the shepherd boy defeated Goliath.

As I was reading it, I felt a witness inside me,
prompting me to read the preparations David made,
and what it took to take down Goliath.

David picked 5 stones.
But it took only one to finish the Job.

Then God spoke to me.
Even though David was so secured in his faith that God would fight the battle,
he picked 5 stones because 5 represents Grace.
David faced Goliath armed with Grace!

Beloved, isn't that just what we need?
The unearned, unmerited, undeserved favor Jesus bought for us,
to tackle our everyday?

As you start your week today,
remember the weapons you're armed with,
child of God.

And this message, glorifies Jesus.
