The Finger That Wrote On Stones

"They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger."
(John 8:6)
A woman caught in the act of adultery.
There Jesus was, preaching about love,
and something about an unearned, undeserved, unmerited favor.

Some didn't like it, and believed in only their own merit.
And thus they decided to put this doctrine to the test.

Sounds familiar?
All around us, we do have someone who would insist on doing right,
so as to gain favor from God, don't we?

And when we fall short,
they wouldn't cease to condemn us, don't they?

Well, faced with such situations,
Jesus stooped down,
and on the stony temple ground,
He started writing.
He was probably thinking
"You come against me with the law of Moses?
My finger wrote those laws on the 2 stone tablets.
You want the law, you got it."

He stood up, and said
"He that's without sin, cast the first stone."

One by one, they left.

Beloved, reminded of your past lately?
The times where you fell short and failed?
It's not from Jesus.
Don't dwell in it.

And always remember, each time we fail,
and the devil starts condemning us,
Jesus would be there, to lift you up from your guilt,
and tells you with a smile,
"Neither do I condemn you.  Go and sin no more"

And This Message, Glorifies Jesus.
