Love.
"But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed."
(Isaiah 53:5)
There was this young man,
who stood in the middle of town one day,
telling everyone he had a perfect heart,
and how perfect it was.
How it looked so flawless without a scratch or mark.
Then an old man came up to him,
and told him
"Your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine"
The younger man looked that the older's heart,
and saw that though it was beating strongly,
it had so many scars on it.
The younger went
"You must be kidding. Mine's perfect, flawless. And yours, filled with tears and scars."
"Yes" the old man replied,
"and each scar represents a person whom I've given love to.
I give a piece of my heart to them,
and they in turn give me a piece of theirs which fits mine"
Well, beloved,
I do not know how true this story is,
but I do know of someone who did the same to me.
Before I was even born,
A man named Jesus,
saw me coming and knew of the things I'd have to go through.
There and then,
He decided that He loves me too much to see me lead a life of condemnation.
Thus, He decided to go through a whole ordeal,
just to make me right with Daddy God.
Whipped for my wholeness,
pierced for my sins.
Stabbed in the heart,
and betrayed by His own beloved.
One day when I see Him again,
He'd probably still bear these scars on His body.
And I know that if I were to ask Him why He did it,
He'll probably reply "Because you're worth it."
Beloved, that is the Jesus I know,
and you know what,
He loves you the same too.
Because no matter what you did, or how you fell short,
you, are still worth it.
And This Message, Glorifies Jesus
