The Things Of Eternal Value
"So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."
(2 Corinthians 4:18)
Few days ago,
My friends and I happened to walk into this shop in town,
selling things that relates to Singapore in the 90's.
On the shelf I saw a couple of erasers,
which I recalled were sold in my primary school bookstore.
You don't find those anymore.
The first thought that came into my mind when I saw that
"Am I That Old?"
That aside, I noticed that the eraser which used to be sold at 20cents,
was now being sold at $1.20.
6 times it's original price!
Such an old, and seemingly useless piece of rubber,
in a less than favorable physical condition.
Yet, it's value increased.
Then I realized, it's because of what it means to the person who owns it,
and what it reminds him of.
Beloved, to Daddy God,
aren't we the same as that piece of old eraser?
Useless, stupid and good for nothing.
Yet Daddy God Treats us like treasures!
Why?
Because each time He sees you,
He gets reminded of what Jesus did on the Cross for you.
And when He gets reminded, He becomes Happy.
Beloved, probably today you feel useless,
unworthy of anything.
To begin with, you're probably right.
That's why Daddy God sent Jesus here.
To make you a treasure.
End of the day, it's not so much of who you are on the outside,
but who do you have on the inside.
Which side of yourself are you looking at now, beloved?
And This Message, Glorifies Jesus.
