What Are You?
"And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;"
(Genesis 2:16)
Think about it.
Of all the things that we have in this life,
there's only one thing that we can choose out of our own free will,
that determines who we are - Our Character.
We can't choose who our parents are,
how our family background is like,
the looks on our faces.
But we can choose what kind of character we have.
There was this girl,
who one day got so sick of the cares of life she was carrying,
and the burdens she was facing,
She decided to find her closest relative to rant at - Her grand mother.
Sweet Grand mother heard all her rantings,
but offered no advice.
Instead she went to the kitchen to boil some water,
and prepared 3 different ingredients,
a carrot, an egg and some coffee beans.
She told her grand daughter to observe.
As the water started to boil, she threw the carrot and the egg in.
In a matter of minutes, the carrot turned soft,
and the egg was harden inside.
She then threw the coffee beans into the water,
and the water turned dark brown smelt really good.
Grand mother told the younger,
"Like it or not, life's about challenges after challenges.
But you have a choice, to be a victim of it,
or use it as an opportunity to make a difference.
The carrot was once so hard and strong, but was made weak by the hot water.
The egg was so soft on the inside, but hardened when boiled.
The coffee however, turned the water into coffee,
and made a difference not to itself, but to it's surroundings."
With a smile,
granny asked"Which is you?"
Beloved, I think the free will granted to us by the blood of Jesus,
shouldn't be about sinning and being righteous,
but about making a difference to the people around.
Jesus offered you a choice, beloved.
What will you be?
And This Message, Glorifies Jesus.
