The Empty Swing
"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead"
(Philippians 3:13)
Memories are a wonderful thing one can have in an entire lifetime.
Be it good or bad,
it always has a take home point from which we build our character.
However, to have it is one thing, and to dwell in it is another.
More often than not,
we tend to dwell too much about what had happened,
we don't want to move on with life.
Regrets from mistakes,
complacency from success,
we forgot who made our memories memorable - Jesus.
A friend of mine told me that while he was in pain in hospital,
memories of his childhood flashed through his mind,
memories of him on a swing playing.
He thought he was going to die.
Well beloved, like it or not,
it's time we get off the swing and move on with life.
Life has no time for "should have" and "might have been"s
So trust Jesus to prosper whatever you've done,
even though you screwed up,
and see the salvation He brings you.
And This Message, Glorifies Jesus.
