The Promise Keeper.
""Don't be afraid!" David said. "I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king's table!""
(2 Samuel 9:7)
Finally after many years of adversities and calamities,
David became who he was called to be - King of Israel.
The moment he became king,
he remembered a covenant he had with the son of his oppressor.
Jonathan, son of King Saul,
had David promise him to look after his child should he die.
Saul is dead, and so is Jonathan.
David knew that the son of Jonathan,
had become crippled, and should he not look after him,
nobody would have dared spoke against him.
Furthermore, he was the grandson of the person who tried to take his life several times.
But David kept his side of his promise.
Within 24 hours,
the crippled boy who begged on the streets,
was seated at the kings table eating.
Years later, a rebellion took place,
and this crippled took the side of the enemy.
The enemy perishes,
and the crippled tells David that it wasn't his intention to join the enemies.
We never knew if he spoke the truth,
because David didn't ask.
And without a doubt,
continued to look after him.
David, did the impossible.
He did what nobody else would do.
He kept his promise.
Beloved, that's the same Daddy God you have today,
a promise keeping one.
Many times, we fail and fall short of His expectation.
Yet time and again, he took us back into his loving arms,
and sat us by His table.
Now, it's time for us to do the same,
to love the unlovable around us.
Because He first loved you.
And when you start loving people,
you get a glimpse of what Daddy God does everyday.
And This Message, Glorifies Jesus.
