Uncertainty

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."
(Proverbs 3:6)
It's almost a norm to see people gambling at gatherings during Chinese New Year.
So much as I feel a little out of place when I don't.

Yesterday while at a friend's place with a few other friends,
we were playing a game of  saboteur along with a sibling of one of our friends.
As we were playing, this sibling asked if we gambled.
My friend replied that he used to, but not anymore.
The sibling then probed further and asked why the sudden change of mindset?
And the reply of my friend left an impact on me.
"because now I like certainty."

It I came to realize that people of the world are easily enticed by the cheep thrills of uncertainty.
The fact that there's chance that they might make a gain gives them a sense of hope.
But go through this hassle for thrills, for hope,
when there's a God who gives hope that will never disappoint,
who gives so much you'll be thrilled by not only what He gives,
but at the love He has for blessing you?
Beloved, this is the good news, the gospel.
It needs to be made known.

And his Message, Glorifies Jesus.
