The Analogy Of Life.

"Life, is like a cup of coffee"

5 years after they graduated,
A group of friends who knew each other during their undergrad days,
decided to go back to their school and visit their old professor.

While they were talking with him,
their conversation soon turned into complains.
Complains about stress,
both in work and personal life.

Old professor offered his old students coffee,
stood up, walked into the kitchen to brew some.
He returned, with a large pot of coffee,
and a variety of cups.
Some were made of top grade glass,
porcelain, some were made of diamonds,
some were crafted form crystal,
and the rest were normal disposable cups.

He told them to help themselves with the coffee,
and after all had a cup in their hands,
the professor remarked,
that all the expensive cups were taken up,
leaving behind the disposable, normal and cheap cups.

See beloved, it is very normal to want the best for ourselves.
But somehow, that itself becomes a problem.

A cup adds no quality to the coffee it holds.
It just looks expensive in come cases,
and may even hide what we're drinking.
And what we wanted really, was just coffee, not the cup.

Hold that taught.

Life, is like coffee.

The jobs we yearn for,
the status in society we aim for,
the money we want,
are the cups.

They're merely tools used to hold and contain life.
At the end of the day, the kind of cup we have,
do not determine who we really are inside.

The problem today,
is that we focus too much on the cup,
we forgot to enjoy the coffee.

Life in this context,
is about savoring the coffee, not the cups.
The happiest people around do not have the best of everything
But they make the best out of everything they have.

Beloved, Jesus came to give a life more abundantly.
It's a gift.
Stop all the striving, and start enjoying your coffee.
Let Jesus, take care of the cup.

And This Message, Glorifies Jesus.
