The Lamp Post.

I remember the past few nights,
when I was walking home late at night,
alone on a deserted road, a lot went through my mind.
Not about things that I thought would scare me in the dark,
but things about life.

Walking past a row of lamp post,
I remember walking past this particular lamp post,
which was blinking because of a faulty bulb.

From a distance away, I told God,
to show me a sign, and make the bulb shine brightly the moment I walk past it.
God asked me why I needed a sign,
and I replied probably I wanted assurance that He was with me.
True enough, as I walked past and stood below the lamp,
it stopped blinking.

Somehow a feeling of assurance overwhelmed me,
and suddenly God became so real again.

Sometimes, I think, we ought to just forget everything in life,
and spent some time remembering the promise of Daddy God,
the promise of His faithfulness.

More often than not, He's closer to us than we can ever imagine.
