My Banner
"Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-nissi (which means "the LORD is my banner")."
(Exodus 17:15)
God, has many names.
But one puzzles me.
Yahweh Nissi.
The Lord my banner.
All these while I didn't quite get it's meaning,
until I went to a military air base a few days ago.
All around, were flags flying,
signifying the presence of an armed force,
ready to deploy, engage and destroy any adversaries.
It was their symbol of pride,
and instilled a sense of ownership of the base to every soldier.
And that's what the Lord my banner means.
Life is a war in and of itself.
Battles take place everyday,
regardless of whether we like it or not.
But the reason every believer fight is different.
We fight from victory, not for one.
As life comes engaging us with all kinds of problems,
we raise our banner as a deterrence,
The banner of Jesus.
And in His name, every knee bows.
That's how we win.
Beloved, stop striving,
and start fighting out of rest.
The banner is in you.
Use it.
And This Message, Glorifies Jesus
